What has Scientology done for me, my family, my business and my life? – by Patrick Valtin

Scientology literally means “the study of truth”. It comes from the Latin word “scio”, meaning “knowing in the fullest sense of the word” and the Greek word “logos” or “study of”. Scientology is the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, others and all life.

I have always been curious and intrigued by truth – about anything: life, our origin, our innate powers, etc. hence all my life I had been looking for answers to many questions left unanswered by my education. Born a catholic I always had a hard time to believe that my fate was totally depending only on God’s will. I could not personally agree that someone else would or could decide of my future or good luck or eternal freedom. I always believed that I was the one who had to do something about my future and my spiritual freedom.

Although Scientology includes belief in God, it offers no doctrine or details about God and leaves it to its parishioners.  This is why you see people from all kinds of religious backgrounds in Scientology – Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Jewish and many others… I  still believe today that God has given me the powers to make the best out of myself. I remain a Christian in my relationship to God.

But as far as a spiritual being who needs to take care of himself – and of others, and who knows that the future is mine – depending on what I do about it, Scientology has so far answered all my questions.

As a Scientologist I believe that Man is an immortal, spiritual being. I believe that my experience extends well beyond a single lifetime. Scientology has helped me recognize that my capabilities and talents are unlimited, even if not fully realized at present – and that those capabilities CAN be realized.

It has helped me solve many “unsolvable” problems in life, accomplish my goals and gain lasting happiness. I am constantly reaching higher states of awareness and ability.

Scientology offers many practical courses which truly teach you the real laws of life. I have taken full advantage of the materials contained in these courses to:

• Master the principles of effective communication
• Improve my relationships with others
• Succeed in business
• Develop a great, stable and happy family
• Feel serene and certain, especially when times get tough
• Understand the tricks of life and be allowed to change conditions around me

If you would define happiness as the ability to fulfill your dreams on a daily basis, not just for yourself but for your family, friends and for everyone who is related to you (directly or indirectly), and to be able to improve conditions for the society at large, then I am happy. And this is truly thanks to the tools and principles I learned from Scientology.

Study technology: the key to our kids‘ success in life!

You will agree with me on this following statement: the level of education in our country has been going down dangerously over the last 40 years. It is so true that our schools are rated in the low range of the world’s school system.   We all recognize that the future of our planet will one day rest in the hands of our children. How well equipped will they be to carry society forward? Perhaps the surest gauge is the success with which we are educating them for that role.

Sadly, from all indications, this responsibility has not been met. At a time when quality education is more important than during any period in history, our schools are failing at an alarming rate. Typical of the educational problems faced by most Western countries is the tragedy of the United States student. America once had one of the finest educational systems in the world, yet for nearly three decades that system continues to face a formidable crisis.

Over 25 percent of all students leaving or graduating high school lack the reading and writing skills required by the minimum demands of daily living. The American high-school dropout rate hovers at around 30 percent to 50 percent in inner-city areas. According to the president of one teachers’ association, up to 50 percent of all new teachers quit the profession within the first five years.  SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) scores of American students have sunk to levels considerably lower than those achieved by students in the mid-1960s
